All-Clad 3-qt. Stainless Steamer Insert

Fits All-Clad stainless 3-ply sauce pans 8" inside diam.
I spent a bit of time trying to get several inserts for my All-Clads pots, pans and stock pots. Here's what I found:

1. The current All-Clad part # for this steamer insert is # 8701004547, and it is available for US sixty dollars at many websites.
2. It is complemented by All-Clad (double) boiler insert part # 8701004490, which is also widely available at the same price. It is not a steamer. See All-Clad Stainless 3-Quart Double-Boiler Insert.
3. Both the steamer & the boiler inserts do fit 3 & 4-quart sauce pans in All-Clad's "Stainless" collection. These pans have an 8-inch inside diameter. They may not fit similarly sized pans in All-Clad's other collections!!!
4. The holes in the bottom of the steamer do not extend to the outer edge of the bottom of the insert. The holes only cover about 2/3's of the bottom, radiating out from the center. Some people have complained about "scorching"...

Copper Core Pots
This is a nice looking product, but it does NOT fit All Clad Copper Core pots

and to second those who commented about Made in China and thickness... Yes it is made in China and Yes it is Thinner that the pot it goes into...

A Must Have!!
We use this more than any other pan in our kitchen. It fits into our 3 and 4 quart All Clad stainless steel sauce pans. We use it EVERY NIGHT to steam vegetables and they turn out perfectly. It holds a lot and washes easily. I like that it has one handle, versus the other option that has small handles on both sides. The handle is long so I can hold it with one hand while plating the contents with my free hand. I couldn't imagine cooking vegetables without it. A must have for All Clad owners.
