Cajun Cookware Kettles 1-quart Seasoned Cast Iron Tea Kettle - Gl10499s

I love this tea kettle
I have been looking for a cast iron kettle for months for my conduction cooktop and wow I finally found one. Unlike other cast iron tea kettle but the ones I found were always painted "tea pots" and the paint burned off.
This one is perfect. It is absolutely the right size, 1 qt, and heats like a dream. The handle is great, no need for pot holders. I would strongly recommend this tea kettle for those that want a no maintence kettle unlike many of the other tea kettles on the market. It's great.

Small Iron kettle.
Still needs to be seasoned inside and outside. I had to season mine, 3 times. The seasoning it came with, does help.

Will last forever, if it's seasoned, right. Don't let water stand in it though.

Love It...FAST shipping
Better than described...love the kettle...Fastest shipping I have ever experienced....Will definitely do business with again...

Browne Foodservice 9198 Medium Single Mesh Strainer with Wood Handle, 8-Inch

Nice strainer... and it was under 7 bucks.
Can't go wrong and the price was right. It's a very nice strainer, well built but the handle could be improved. Actually, the metal part of the handle is fine but the wood is unfinished and if you don't do something to it like adding a polyurethane finish, or a food grade oil finish, it won't last long. After only a couple weeks of use the name has come off and it's looking dried out. It gets 4.5 stars because of the handle. Nice for straining the home made wines and much less expensive than cheesecloth.

Nice but not stainless
This strainer is nice enough but is not stainless so you need to wash and dry it immediately so that it doesn't rust.

good strainer
Mainly used to clean basmati rice and drain pasta..It works good with no rice getting through the screen.Seems durable, should be good for years.

Nordic Ware 365 Indoor/Outdoor Backsplash Griddle

Great little Griddle
I just purchased my second griddle for my grill. They are very light weight, don't warp & they are non-stick coated which is staying on the pan where it belongs. I Love the smell of bacon frying. I Hate the smell of bacon in the house and with this I don't have to smell it in the living room, bedroom, etc. My grill is 25 inches wide so with the 2 put together (end to end) I can cover the whole grill or if I want to fry onions and peppers while grilling steaks I will just use 1. I always wanted a flat top to grill on outside and now I don't have to spend a couple hundred dollars to have one.

Nice
Great for bacon on the grill! I have a small grill and needed something that would allow the lid to close.

Pickle Maker Tsukemono Press Container Small #1945

great pickle press
this is a great small size vegetable press. i put it in the dishwasher and there is no damage. its almost big enough to put a block of tofu in to press, but i always have to break off a peice and put it on top. then turned upside down will drain the tofu well. its great for making tsukemono, because most of the time you want enough for just a couple of servings and not a large quantity.

VERY HANDY
Nice size for one or two. I have a much larger press, but really did not use it much as I am alone now. Perfect for making up some pickles daily. Seems a little pricey for it's simplicity, but.....

I really like it.
I'm using it for the first time to lacto-ferment greens grown in the garden. I mashed up a bunch of crossed tatsoi greens with salt (3 tbsp per 5 lbs as per wildfermentation.com's recommendation, so that only came out to about 1-1/2 tsp. for the amount that fits in this Tsukemono press). I tasted and it seemed too salty so added MORE greens, had to really force the lid down, but it caught and held. Anyway, the greens did produce enough liquid to cover, and the spring in this press keeps the greens down below the liquid, and if I tilt the press, green liquid spills out from under the top, so that means gasses can escape. Perfect. For the amount of lacto-fermented greens I and MAYBE hubby can eat, this is a good size. And inexpensive. If you put it in your cart under "hold for later," next time you order something over $25, you can order this too.

Cast Iron Cauldron: 4 1/2" diameter Triquetra

Very Pretty and Useful
This couldron is very attractive and is a welcome addition to the altar. The only reason I gave it a four instead of a five is that the legs aren't all the same length making it a little lopsided. It's not a huge deal. The three of us in the household still really like it and use it frequently.

Medium Triquetra Cauldron
Just got my cauldron and I love it! However, one leg is very noticeably longer than the other two. Between this and the uneven Triquetra altar table I bought, I'm a little nervous about ordering anything else of this nature from here. My husband kindly offered to sand the legs of my table down, and he said he could grind the cauldron leg down too. I hope it doesn't screw up the integrity of the iron or anything. It'd be nice if there were some better quality control measures. Who wants a crooked cauldron? Otherwise, I really love it.

My new cauldron
i saw this cauldron here on Amazon & fell in love with it i have been wanting one for a while so i decided to order it only to find that when i recieved it the triquetra on the cauldron i received was different then in the picture it was upside down also the cauldron in the picture shows a sliver look & what i recieved is black which is why i rated it 3 stars

HIC Brands that Cook Porcelain Individual Lasagna Pan, 8-1/2 by 5-1/2-Inch

The best of the best!
I bought the lasagna sized pan as described by America Test Kitchens and it is superb...beyond superb....the best of the best.
I needed another smaller size so bought these and they too are fantastic and perfect for us. I am able to use them under
the broiler and very very few pans (other than metals) can go under the broiler and then directly to the table. It goes to the
freezer and microwave as well. Easy handles that look nice but are important for safety. I highly recommend these and any item from Harold Import Company. You won't be disappointed and wonder how you got along without them.

HIC is the only cookware to buy for use in the oven.
The HIC brand has been recommended by the testers on America Test Kitchen. I have used this referral for many products and I have never been disappointed.

Best baking dish you can buy
This baking dish is easy to clean, doesn't stain and is safe in the over and the broiler, which is why I bought it. I bake and broil chicken, pork and fish in it perfectly.

Cajun Cookware Pots 3-quart Seasoned Cast Iron Sauce Pot - Gl10491bs

A terrific companion for our Lodge cookware
We own a ton of Lodge cast iron. Literally, I think. So I was a little leery of trying another brand. But this Cajun Cookware pot was every bit the match for Lodge, which has no saucepots. Great finish, nice design. Finally, we can toss those expensive Calaphalon pots. The only disadvantage of cast iron is the weight, in every other respect (cooking performance, non-stick, cleanup, durability) cast iron beats everything else, including our unbelievably expensive Calphalon pots which are worn out after only four years of use.

Meodicre pot - I'd rather pay more for a better one
I use cast iron pots extensively, and wanted one in this particular size. It is as advertised, but it isn't great. The finish is poor - very rough surface, a lot of extra flash from the molding process, end edges are very rough from the coarse grinding cleanup they did at the factory. There are places where it is obvious the mold halves did not line up properly when they cast it - in the handle especially. The iron is a bit thin as well. The cover does not fit nicely - it rocks a bit and is a bit misshapen.

I spent about 1/2 an hour smoothing off the edges and cleaning it up with a file and a sander, then re-seasoned it. It's better now, but still doesn't give pleasure in use.

Compared to Lodge cookware, this is poor. I'd stick with Lodge except they don't offer this particular item.

Great Pan!
I am in the process of switching over my cookware to something more substainable. I purchased this pot to replace another pot. I love the fact that it is pre-seasoned so I did not have to worry about doing that.

Nice product but picture doesn't show color well
Purchased the purple mugs which look almost cobalt in the picture but are more of an eggplant color. Quality is outstanding and the are microwavable... purchased to replace mugs with handles that got too hot in the micro.

Good quality, looks great
A little more texture on the pattern than what shows up in the pictures. Feels solid enough and they look great. Color is pretty close to the pictures.

Norpro Stainless Steel Butter Melter

Great for melting butter
I bought this pan and the Farberware and am happier with the Farberware little pan. This one is good, but it really can only handle melting butter or a very small amount of liquid - like 1 cup. It heats up quickly and contents tend to want to burn. Handle gets hot. It is great though for melting butter, which is what I wanted, but if you want to mix up a packet of gravy, you will need the slightly larger Farberware.

terrible for the price
This item has no lid and so if you want to heat anything besides butter, it has a wider mouth at the top than its bottom and lets out any ability to heat, water, milk, coffee, etc.
The biggest problem, is that the "pour" design is a POOR design. Try pouring from this thing at any angle or speed and the contents spill all over.
This utensil isn't worth $2.

Nice little pot
I use this pot to melt butter for popcorn or mashed potatoes, to warm gravy or maple syrup. I like its small size and it cleans us easily. It is attractive enough to bring to the table too.

Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Family Style Pressure Cooker Stockpot 8 Quart

Subtantial, beautiful and excellent.
I have the 2.5l Braiser and 6l pot as well and don't regret spending extra for the Kuhn Rikon brand. I never used pressure cookers before and now I find myself planning all my meals around this appliance and can have all 3 going at once. The mechanisms are flawless, clean up is a breeze and this size can easily hold a good Sunday roast. These are gorgeous pots that look good on a stove top and to keep them looking good I store the lid upside down in the pot with a towel between them so the metal cannot mark. I also keep the rubber gasket in the pot while it's not in use, it's quick and easy to pop it into the lid when the time comes.

Awesome Pressure Cooker
Oh my gosh....I love my new pressure cooker. I am VERY happy that I spent the extra money to buy this pot. I feel very safe using this pot with all of the safety features. I did like the book suggested and test drove my new pot with water in it so I would learn what to expect. I couldn't be happier. I only wished I had made this purchase years ago. I made pulled pork today with a pork roast in 2hours With my electric stove turned all the way down. My son cooked the same roast today in the crock pot and it took 6hours. I am in love. I'm cooking southwest chicken soup tomorrow. My husband is thrilled with all the delicious food. The cooker really seals in the flavor and cooks very quickly. I'm on the Internet every day looking for new ideas to cook in my pot. I even made my own broth today. You will not be disappointed with this pot. Happy Cooking!
i forgot to mention that it took me a few days to decide whether I would need an 8 or 12 qt pot. I'm glad I chose the 8qt for every...

BUY IT !
Initially I was hesitant to buy it because of the significant price difference with the other pressure cookers, finally after lots of thinking,I decided to get the family style 8 qt stockpot.
I cannot be happier with this purchase. I am able to cook delicious, wholesome food in a short period of time. The operation is also very simple and quiet.
I am looking forward to try new recipes using this cooker.
I love this pressure cooker so much, I am planning to install a bigger sink in the kitchen!
You definitely get what you paid for!

Emile Henry Flame Top 2.6-Quart Tagine Red

Better Than The Traditional
I love tagine cooking. I purchased a traditonal clay one years ago. You had to soak it overnight in cold water before use. I hadn't used in in over a year and I knew I was taking a chance when I didn't bother to soak it. I even smiled as I watched the crack form and spread. At last I had an excuse to purchase this one!

Dishwasher safe! No soaking, although you do need to boil milk in it before the first use. This size feeds six. I lucked out and found a black one at Crate and Barrel Outlet.

Although I was annoyed with the upkeep of a tradtional tagine, I didn't want to switch to stainless steel or cast iron. This new glazed clay is a wonderful innovation.

This one cooks evenly. Cleans up easily and is nice enough to serve from at the table. If you are serious about the cuisine, this is the one to purchase. I'm concerned about the cast iron and stainless steel ones by other companies. Those aren't traditional materials and they conduct heat...

Great Cooking Experience
Wow, 90 bucks for a pot seems kinda hefty but this sucker really is worth it. Packaging was good, came fast and I've used it 4 times already in the past two weeks. This is not only for cooking moroccan food but others as well. Meats prepared on stovetop for 2 - 2.5 hours are incredibly tender and juicy, based over and over again with the lid shape designed the way it is. So far did beef, chicken, pork and gonna do a turkey breast later this week and I cant wait. I love it and leave it on my counter top cause I love the way it looks too! Seems pretty solid, i forgot I left it in the oven and had it pre-heating at 425 for an hour. Seems to be quite sturdy too!

Moroccan cooking
I am very pleased overall w/ this product. My husband is Moroccan and we cook tagines probably 5 times a week. We had been previously using a very small clay tagine from Morocco and needed a larger size. We have cooked a wide array of foods in this tagine and are very happy w/ all the results. Not to mention, it also looks wonderful displayed on our range top when not in use. The heat is evenly distributed and the steam is circulated well in the conical lid. The one thing I would do to enhance this product is to create a small hole for venting. For now, we prop it open on occasion w/ a wooden spoon. We have requested the smaller (9.5") tagine for a gift.

Paula Deen Signature Stainless Steel Skillets

warped bottom isn't appreciated
I recently purchased this skillet and was surprised to find that each time it gets hot (just past medium) the bottom of the pan warps. It rocks badly on my glass top stove. Then when it cools, it goes back to flat. More annoying than anything as things seem to cook just fine.

Paula Dean 12 in Copper skillet
This is the best 12 in skillet on the market. The copper bottom spreads the heat evenly. Everthing made in this turned out perfect. I've tried many other 12" skillets on the market and this is by far better than all. ShopKo in town lists the cost a $80.00....bought it at $40.00 on sale. You won't go wrong with it. If the copper did seperate...save your receipt for a new one. Also bought the 10" skillet...just as good as the 12". The non-stick surface seems to be very durable.

Best skillet I have ever owned
This is a superb skillet. The non-stick cooking area is extremely smooth, which makes it a joy to cook with and very easy to clean. The copper bottom distributes heat evenly to the entire cooking surface. It is rather deep for a 10 inch skillet which makes grease splatter less bothersome. I now own 2 Paula Deen skillets, this one and a 12 inch as well. They are my two favorite skillets. They are well made and have enough weight that keeps them in place on the stove. The handle does not transmit heat and has a good grip for texture and shape. I will keep an eye out for other Paula Deen signature cookware, these are the best skillets in my kitchen.

Mauviel M'Heritage M250C 6504.26 10.5 Inch Round Frying Pan, Cast Iron Handle

Awesome Splurge
Dropped the $200 on this pan and I am not disappointed at all. You really have to be into cooking to appreciate what it is (you know who you are) but once you get it and use it you are so happy you bought it.

I use this pan for lot's of things and the one thing in commmon is that everything turns out just great. Crank up the heat, instant respone. Turn down the heat, instant response. It's an amazing metal copper, and really the best for cooking. I wish I had the guts to buy all the pans I need from Mauviel but for now this is my one little indulgence. All of my All Clad is still secure in that it won't be replaced by this stuff anytime soon. But who knows, one day maybe.....

useful copper skillet
From Mrs. CyberDad:

This item was a gift during the winter holiday season, so this review covers several months of use, on a gas stove in a home kitchen.

First, this is a heavy skillet, so don't expect to do any light-hearted tossing of ingredients. Heat control, as expected in copper, is excellent. If you are browning onions, for example, you can shut down the heat precisely when you want them to stop browning. There is no "retained heat" to continue the cooking process.

Second, this is not a skillet for the dishwasher. However, it cools so quickly after cooking that it can be hand-washed almost immediately. (The handle retains heat longer than the pan--and you will need to use a potholder.) A quick swish with a sponge and soapy water, rinsing and towel-drying, and the pan is ready to use again. Because of the quick cool-down time, there is very little trouble with burned-on food.

Third, I haven't bothered to polish this pan, and...

Excellent!!!
I purchased this to be used exclusively as an omlet pan. It is a bit heavy, but perfectly balanced. The copper conducts heat evenly up through the sides of the pan. Not only is it perfectly functional it is beautiful hanging on my pot rack. I chose this brand because I refuse to cook on tin or aluminum and this is stainless steel lined. PERFECT!!!! I am looking to add more Mauviel products to collection.

Swiss Diamond 9 Piece Set: Family Kitchen Kit

Great Pans
Excellent product. They are better than expected. One lid was very slightly dented, but, they included an extra lid the same size.

Here's something to think about !!!!
I wrote the Swiss Diamond company and asked for an explanation of what the nano-composite material was made of.

After a week or so, I received a polite reply from Allan Wolk, an employee in the U.S. His email informed me that, "Our patented nonstick surface uses a nano-composite of real diamond crystals and PTFE; it is applied using a computer controlled plasma gun at very high temperatures."

Naturally, my attention was immediately drawn to the PTFE. The acronym sounded familiar. What was PTFE?

A quick search of Wikipedia provided the answer: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PTFE)

As Wikipedia explains:

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a fluoropolymer discovered by Roy J. Plunkett (1910-1994) of DuPont in 1938. It was introduced as a commercial product in 1946 and is generally known to the public by DuPont's brand name Teflon

Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen 4-Inch Bamboo Steamers, Set of 2

Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen 4-inch bamboo
I like the product but was a little disappointed with it as some of the glued joints came loose, apparently from steam. Something, in my opinion, that should not happen as it is a, duh, steamer.

dumplings anyone?
Having great fun using the steamer. I steam dumplings in my wok-have used the steamer in a regular pot without issue. I sometimes steam with one tray but find I use both trays mostly. My husband likes the steamed dumplings. I like steamed veggies steaming using both trays filled with two or three different vegetables steaming is quick with very little clean up.

Really small
Looks nice. quality looks good. But too small to make anything with. Can only fit one regular size dim sum or two tiny ones. Maybe I can use it to steam a small portion of vegetables instead.

Nifty Turkey Lifter

Works just fine
I purchased this item to use on the turkey that I roasted for dinner, this past Thanksgiving. It's well designed, and sturdy enough. I used it on a 14 lb bird, and would not necessarily think that it would work for a very large turkey. But for this size, it made it very easy to lift the turkey out of the roasting pan, without a problem. The chrome finish is heavy, and the rack washed easily. Very satisfied.

Nifty Lifter
I used this for a turkey weighing just under 14 lbs. It fit easily, and the rack could probably accomodate a 16 lb bird. Note: position/balance of the turkey on the rack is important -- to prevent a hot bird from unintentionally slipping off the rack when lifing it. Do a "test-lift" BEFORE placing in the roaster and adjust the position as necessary.

Be careful
I can't use this product because when I put the turkey on it, it won't fit in my oven. I would warn anyone to check the size of their oven before purchasing this item.I never thought my oven was too small before. I wish I could return it but I don't have the packaging.

WearEver A8278264 Cook and Strain Nonstick Stainless Steel Handle Red Metallic Exterior 5-Quart Jumbo Cooker Fry Pan with Glass Lid Cookware, Red

Good Pan at a Great Price
My wife needs a large skillet to cook her Pansit. We did have a nice one we bought at Sam's Club in Houston but it somehow got left behind when we moved to Georgia. We weren't able to find a replacement locally so I checked Amazon and found an ideal replacement skillet. The wife is happy so I'm happy.

Cook and Strain Fry Pan
I have been looking for the WearEver Cook and Strain Nonstick Frying Pan for a short time. Evidently, WearEver stopped making it. So, when I found this at Amazon I didn't waste any time purchasing it. The price was right and the red color was just an added bonus! It's bigger than the one I got with my set about 10 years ago so that's a plus, too.
The only thing I hold against it is that it's not as heavy as my original one. But, I think I'll just be a little bit more careful and take exceptional care of this one and it should last me many, many years!

Great pan!
I have only used this pan 3 or 4 times, but so far it works great! Heats evenly, cleans up wonderfully, and this type of lid is so handy to have.

Ceramic Bacon Cooker - Brown

Not what I expected.
The picture shows five slices of bacon nicely cooked. four barely fit. The drainage is not what I expected either. I should
have checked the measurements more closely before ordering. It's also difficult the cover with a paper towel and hence messy in the microwave.

Disappointed
Very disappointed that item came without instructions, description, etc. As a gift it leaves the receiver with no idea
what they have.

Not all it's supposed to be.
When cooking bacon on this, grease collects inside the "cup" and also in the "saucer". Now, to drain this off after cooking, they have thoughtfully put a spout on the "saucer" BUT they failed to put a drain hole from the inside of the "cup" to the "saucer" next to the lip. This means that if you are pouring into a jar you have to carefully pour out the saucer and then reposition to drain the cup while the saucer drips onto the counter. Mine is now living in the cabinet unused.

Nordic Ware Microwave Divided Dish with Cover

Some good; some Bad
I am a bit disappointed with this product. Considering the price I truly hoped it would live up to the claim of freezer-microwave-dishwasher safe... unfortunately after one or two washes the lids do not sit correctly. While I'm still able to use the base for serving food to the family, if I want to freeze in them I have to tape the lid closed for security.

So why even give it a 3 rating? Because all other products of this type have illustrated the same problem. No one seems to have found a way to make sure the lids don't loose their tightness (so it's my hope that companies will see reviews like this and get to the research lab!)

it melted in a microwave
It was exactly what I wanted: A triple divided vegetable dish that was microwavable. The first time I used it the cover melted. (NOTE: the cover specifically says "do not use in oven. For microwave use only." To make it even sadder, it says "Made in U.S.A."

Flamekiss 8" Red Ceramic Coated Fry Pan by Amorè, Innovative & Elegant Design, Nano Ceramic Coating w/ Silver Ion (100% PTFE & PFOA Free)

Awesome, but too balanced.
Definitely 4 star, but for this smaller 8" pan, they made the handle AS HEAVY as the pan portion. That is why this is 4 and not 5 star on this size. The pan wants to constantly tip to the handle. If you are cooking something heavy, not an issue, but for things like eggs, it can be, creating an uneven cooking area due to not all of the pan making good contact with the surface burner. I might try to drill holes in the handle to lighten it - not sure why they made a handle so heavy for a size this small. But the non-stick pan is awesome.

Unsafe - poor design!
This pan is unsafe! The handle is too large and heavy for the pan and causes it to tip towards the handle when nothing is in it. You would not want to melt butter or heat oil in it. They use the same handle on all of their frying pans.

I love the other Flamekiss pan I own (12" wok). It is very well made and it performs extremely well. This is why I took a chance with the 8" pan. Unfortunately, when they just stick the same handle on everything and not test it for balance, this tell me that they are more concerned with manufacturing process and not making a quality product.

Great non stick pan
This pan rocks. I have the wok as well it is a great pan! Nothing sticks in it. i use it as my everyday pan for eggs. It is is great for making salmon too.

Excelsteel Professional Aluminum Frypan with Ceramic Non-Stick Coating, 8-Inch, Off-White

Very pleased!
I originally threw away all my nonstick Revereware because I was frightened by the effects of the various chemicals on the nonstick. It was starting to chip and get into my food. I switched completely to stainless steel and I've been using that. I noticed I was avoiding making simple dishes like eggs and sausage because the food would stick and it was hard to clean. I even got a special cleaner for the stainless steel but it didn't work. I've been seeing all this hype about the "greener" nonsticks. But I've shied away because of the hefty price tag. I was at the supermarket and I saw this pan. It was also expensive but I liked the feel of the nonstick. I also liked the claims that they didn't use chemicals often found in nonstick. I checked out the price of Amazon and was very pleased with that it was about 1/2 the price than what I saw at the store.

When I first got it, I immediately put it in the dishwasher. It came out fine so I made some sausage with it. It was slow to...

Great product so far
We've been using this skillet for a month and it has performed extremely well. Didn't realize the skillet has small ridges when initially ordered, but discovered they don't hamper cooking or cleaning in any way. This 12" was our "test" skillet, so today we're ordering another along with an 8" and 10". Food is cooked evenly and clean-up could not be easier.

Best skillet we have ever had!
We have gone through many non-stick skillets over the years but this one is the best. We have used it at least 100 times now and it still looks and performs like new. You can cook at low temperatures and the ceramic surface cooks very evenly and the food tastes wonderful. We don't typically wash it in the dishwasher because it is so easy to clean and we don't want to tie it up in the dishwasher until it is ran again. I bought this skillet as a result of researching the best non-stick surface to avoid carcinogens related to cancer. Ceramic was recommended but, being skeptical of non-stick surfaces, I didn't want to spend too much money. We are so pleased with this skillet we added the 12 inch skillet to our Christmas list.

GreenPan San Francisco Crepe Pan, 11-Inch

The Best
I just love using this pan...is wonderful for crepes but I use it especially for pancakes and egg breakfasts. Everything gets done so nicely. I have always had an issue making a good pancake...this pan has solved that for me! I would highly recommend!

Not at all evil!
I do have a gas cooktop, and this pan is working beautifully for me. The first time I made pancakes with it, I used a bit of butter in the pan and cooked three small pancakes at a time in the pan. The first batch didn't brown properly, so I adjusted the heat a bit. The next two batches came out with good color, cooked through, and fluffy. The only problem I had was that the pan is so non-stick that flipping them one at a time was a challenge. The spatula was pushing the pancakes right into each other as I tried to get it under one of them to flip it.

Today, I made pancakes again, but just one big one at a time and I did NOT butter the pan. The pancakes cooked perfectly - good color, cooked through and fluffy. The lack of butter in the pan didn't detract at all from the texture, although I missed the slight flavor it imparted to my first pancakes.

One last note: the pan is surprisingly light. When I first picked it up, I was afraid I'd wasted my money on a...

EVIL!
Unless you are using a Gas Cooktop, you will not like this! The stockholm series is much better. It does cost a bit more, but the coating lasts much longer and the heat is more even. For the cost diff. you will thank yourself for making the upgrade. The San Francisco collection is made in a different factory, under different quality control and license agreements. I have tried 7 different sets of pots and pans over the past 2 years trying to find something that will work on my Halogen Cooktop. This is the only one I have found yet that works time after time without having to cook on high heat, or cook for long periods of time on low heat. Sunny Side eggs should never take 30 minutes, nor should they take 2 minutes and be hard; five minutes with this series of pans and they are perfect every time, plus they slide right out. Ive never had to use cleaners with this, two or three wipes of a soft sponge (not the scrubby part) and the pan is ready to go again. All I can say is...

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Sol Thermolon Saute Pan with Lid: 3 Qt

VERY SATISFIED WITH MY SAUTE PANS!
Not too heavy; bought it in two sizes, and so far, they're great! They are induction ready--a plus for me. I hope they hold up, and I hope they're really eco-friendly, as billed.

OUTSTANDING nonstick pan
Highly recommended nonstick pan. Cooks evenly on my (electric) stove. Handles well on high heat. Heavy gauged. Easy to clean. Recently bought the 6 quart Dutch Oven Pot - which is just as great.

Victorio VKP1004 Kitchen/Canning Tongs

Perfect for canning!
These work great for retrieving jars from boiling water and for packing jars with pickles, etc into jars. Much better than the standard kitchen tongs I had been using.

Typical kitchen tongs but a fabulous red color
I needed tongs, seems like I use 2 or 3 at every meal. So I bought 3 of this tongs in red. Looks good in my kitchen implement container and I can find them quickly. I recommend these tongs.

its ok
These tongs serve their purpose. I guess I expected them to be a little sturdier, but they work as you would expect.

Victorinox 7-Inch Granton Edge Santoku Knife, Rosewood Handle

THIS IS A GREAT TOOL!!!
Victorinox 7-Inch Granton Edge Santoku Knife, Rosewood Handle
I've owned Victorinox knives for a long time, when my french knife finally had to be put down (I loved that knife, had it for 16 yrs.) I bought a 7" Santoku with the Rosewood handle. Flawless performance, superlight, razor sharp, easy to hone/sharpen, this has become an instant favorite. Nimble and accurate, EFFORTLESS to use, let me emphasize that again, EFFORTLESS to use!!! I'm not a pro chef, but I do a lot of cooking, and this knife delivers like no other. It is hands down, the most bang for the buck value available in any kitchen knife. If you want to spend a pile money just to say that you have latest "it" knife, by all means, go right ahead, if you would like to get a high quality knife that just performs and aren't worried the least bit by what some cooking school geek says or what the food show personalities use, this is the knife to get...

Love it love it love
I cant tell you how much I love this knife.I have been working in kitchens since I was 15 (I'm 26 now) so I have been through a few knives.for the price I cant fault it.The knives I usually use are Wustof or Global.they are amazing knives and are of very good quality.the down side is they can be very hard to maintain, and when you lose the edge it will be very difficult to get back, near impossible if you don't know what you are doing, but this knife is so easy to sharpen to almost scalpel sharpness.the blade is very thin so I'm always using it on veg and fish and other very delicate tasks. It does feel like a cheaper steel but then again I think it matches the price. There are a lot of chefs just out of culinary school in my restaurant who buy the best of the best but they do their knives no justice.I have only had the knife for four months,I'm not expecting lifetime usage out of it,but think about this,if you walked into a professional kitchen and see a 10 year classically trained vet'...

I thought I had sharp knives until I got this one!
I have cooked a great deal of food over the past 35 years. Sometimes I've cooked for 100+ people. I've also had summers where every dinner served at least 12 people.

I am also a writer, and have advocated the use of good (sharp) knives many times. I've mainly preferred the Japanese made Santoku knives. I used a steeling stick often to keep the nicks and bumps out and never put them in the washing machine.

My knives would frighten my friends when they watched me cook.

Heck, I didn't know what a knife was until I got this one!

It used to be that, even though my knife would slice easily through vegetables, I could always "feel" the cutting action. Even when I could hold a leek over a garbage can and cut off the end section in one go.

But THIS KNIFE! Like BUTTER! I'm getting verklempt! I cut through vegetables and have to look to see the slice, because I feel NOTHING! I've never been able to slice through potatos as if I were...

Swiss Diamond Nonstick Soup Pot - 5.5 qt (10")

Swiss Diamond
Swiss Diamond cookware is expensive but it is worth every cent. This stuff heats evenly, cleans up easily and is almost indestructable. Plastic, metal, wood any utensils go! The only down side is that they do retain heat so well it takes quit a while to cool down. But a great product and probably the last ones you'll buy for a long time!

Swiss Diamond Cookware Rocks
I have a couple of Swiss Diamond skillets, which I love, and finally got this stockpot. It's great. It heats well and evenly, and is super-easy to cleanup, just using a regular nylon sponge. The insulated handles let me move a boiling pot of pasta to the strainer without towel or mitts. Regarding durability, I use my cookware in accordance with mfgr's instructions, and have had no problems. I use wooden or plastic utensils, and don't put them in the dishwasher, same way I treat all of my cookware - with care. Perhaps the one-star reviewer here doesn't take the proper care of her equipment. We will continue to replace all of our nonstick cookware (and that which needs to be nonstick) with Swiss Diamond. You get what you pay for, and Swiss Diamond is worth it. BTW, I was using LOOK cookware, but that surface does not perform nearly as well as Swiss Diamond.

Corporate Interests, Big Money, and a big bunch of LIES!!!

Thermos Llc Intak® Hydration Beverage Bottle 18 oz., Blue

Hunk of junk - cracks if you drop it
I hate this thing and I hate myself for buying a second when the first one broke.

My son takes a water bottle to school. He dropped it - as little kids will do - and it cracked. It cracked big time. Leaked all over his backpack. I thought perhaps it was a freak thing and it must have landed on a rock or hit at some unique angle. Dummy me bought another. He dropped it the next morning in his carpeted class room (apparently he drops everything) and it cracked again and leaked all over the place.

If it's going to crack when you drop it, what's the point?

its ok but it does leak
At first it didn't leak but after several month's it started to leak .... now I have to put my bottles into a zip lock bag so it doesn't leak all in my lunch bag
.... and if you use anything but water it gets dirty in the top part and it you can't clean it out

Messy -- apparently I need directions or it's a flawed design
3 days ago, I bought the blue, 18oz Intak by Thermos bottle from my local grocery store.... I use it for water, flavored water, and vitamin enriched milk. I .... Well, how to put it nicely? This should have come with directions cause I can't seem to NOT drip liquid out of it. Liquid will actually climb up the straw and eventually spill out of the spout (which is highly surprising since I'm not using any carbonated beverages). I leave the spout up and the bottle sitting on my desk, so when I reach for the bottle to take another sip, liquid dribbles all over my desk and work-papers.

Oh and the straw doesn't reach the bottom of the bottle, so there's always a small amount of liquid remaining to get stale and/or create a musty smell, if you don't wash it immediately. [honestly, after an intense workout at the gym, I rush home to shower, not to wash out my bottle, and I'm forgetful enough to fail to do that until the next gym session]

I wavered between 2 and 3...

This is a great thermal carafe!
This carafe is just what I was looking for - a smaller size thermal carafe to use when I'm working at the computer so I warm up my coffee without having to walk out to the kitchen. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a smaller size thermal carafe.

18 Inch Carbon Steel Wok w/ 2 Steel Handles (Round Bottom)

Excellent wok
What can I say, it's a wok. No more, no less. Solid feel, probably 12 gauge steel. Welded handles. Looks like it will outlive me without any question. I seasoned it in the oven and then use a Big Kahuna outdoor propane burner. I'm still learning but have made a half dozen reasonably good stirfrys and used it also to sear meats for other dishes that would have taken too long on my regular cooktop. My only complaint is not about the wok itself but that the wok "ring" on the Big Kahuna is really just six fingers which do hold the wok but don't give you great confidence. The wok is fairly heavy especially when cooking for as many people as one would use this size wok. It needs a solid base and ring to give you the confidence to cook with two implements rather than holding on with one hand. Again, I need to make clear that is not a problem with the wok itself (I welded a ring the the six fingered supports on the Big Kahuna and now it is solid). Bottom line:excellent wok to cook for...

Works beautifully!
If you have a higher output gas stove such as the Wolf or Viking, this will be perfect for serious stir frying. Buy a 18" lid as well. This size is perfect because you can make high quality stir fry dishes that are resturant quality. I use this almost everyday for two. Itll be good for a normal sized family, you would not want a smaller wok if you can afford the space. I have a 22" for larger parties. In order to get the restuanrant char, you have to have a good quqlity and large enough wok so that food stays very hot while you are stirring along with the help of the high gas output. It seasoned beautifully and became nonstick and washes easily in no time. Only trick is, this is larger than many sinks. Need to have the clearance to wash it along with a commitment for storage space.

Tempered Glass Bacon Press

Not exactly what you see in the picture
It comes in an unmarked box, and the handle is separate from the glass. You have to assemble it yourself. It's cookware, not a desk. I shouldn't have to assemble it! If I'd wanted something that I had to put together, I would have ordered a jigsaw puzzle. No mention is made anywhere in the description that it doesn't come assembled. Also, it just came with the top part of the handle. That bottom circular black portion pictured beneath the handle is not included. I don't yet know how it works because it is a gift, but it's extremely small. I hope the person I plan to give it to doesn't want to make more than very small portions of bacon. Pretty disappointing; I'd recommend that you keep shopping.

Matbah Stainless Steel Non-Electric Thermal Rice/Soup Warmer - Keeps Food Warm for upto 6 hours, 6 Quart/5.7 Liters

good product
I am very pleased with product. very good product, bigger capacity; I can hold the very top of the inner pot even when heating the pot. very fast delivery.

Excelent Product.
I love this product.Very please, bougth 2 first try them for feeding the homless in the park, keep the food very hot for loong hours. And I order two more of the Matbah Stainless Steel Non-Electric Thermal Rice/Soup Warmer.Very handy and nice looking, I use them every day,and they still looking like new.Thank You Amazon. And great price$$$$$$$$.Try you like it.

Poor quality control
This is a good idea, poorly executed, but the outside is pretty! The pot is thin, there were manufacturing scars inside the pot, and it lacks a multiply bottom. The insulation surround conducts heat at the center seam badly, thus it does not stay hot overnight for cooking, I have one of the Zojirushi thermal cookers, though more expensive, it works. I plan to return this item.

Corelle Coordinates Kobe Whistling Teakettle

more of a horn than a whistle
Kettle emits more of a droning horn than a whistle when the water is boiling. The quality is acceptable but this is not a future heirloom. Instructions warn against using over high heat on gas range. I would rank as 5 stars if I had paid under $20.

Update: yes, if the kettle is filled to the level of the spout the whistle does does not readily sound. We rarely heat more than two servings so this is not a problem for us. Still using daily as of July 2013!

Beautiful but faulty
This kettle was purchased for me by my son-in-law for Christmas. It's delightfully heavy and really pretty. But it doesn't whistle. I've almost burned it on the stove twice because I've forgotten that it was on and got busy doing other things. Too bad. It was a gift that I really wanted.Corelle Coordinates Kobe Whistling Teakettle

Orka Egg Cooker with Bonus 2-Piece Egg Poacher Set

Too fiddly - poacher hard to use.
Wasn't really as impressed as I thought I'd be. You need more water in the pan, as the eggs sit in the holders upright and consequently 'taller', so you need more water to make sure the eggs are covered, so you have to watch more carefully to make sure the water doesn't boil over. The poached eggs were disasterous - they leaked out of the holder and through the holes and I just ended up with half the egg in the holder, and the rest all stringy and floating around in the water. Not a good product - you're basically paying for the timer, as that's the only good thing about this product!

Revaluation (at the risk of egg on my face)
I initially gave an enthusiastic review of this garish curiosity, which revived my interest in boiling (and eating) eggs. Unfortunately, I've subsequently had to remove that earlier appraisal. The kitsch appeal of the device has had time to wear off, moreover leaving in its wake a couple of major flaws.

First, by slightly elevating the eggs and placing them in vertical position, the gizmo requires a large or, at the least, deep kettle. So you'll be using considerable water not to mention energy to ensure each egg is boiled bottom to top (plus waiting extra time for the water to come to a boil). Secondly, the plastic egg mounted at the pinnacle of the handle contains a timer with numerals that are extremely hard to decipher and which, after a couple of months, disappeared altogether. (I suspect that these units have been sitting on the shelf for extended periods of time, so that the battery is on its final leg by the time the consumer receives his Egg Cooker.) You could...

4-stars for fun
OK, as others have said, this is a silly extravagance, and it does require more water = more gas to boil :-{, but it's about as funny a thing as I've seen!!! So it'll take its place on the viewing shelf to be used only in whimsical moods...

Cuisinox Gourmet 3.6 Quart Universal Steamer Insert

Excellent steamer, adaptable
This universal steamer fits several pot sizes but works best with an 8-inch lid. Sturdy construction, durable high-quality finish. I use this steamer almost daily with hard anodized aluminum pots on a radiant electric range. Veggies come out crisp and tasty.

Perfect versatile steamer insert
This steamer insert fits my Anolon Advanced 2-qt, 3-qt, 3-1/2-qt and 4-qt saucepans (the 4-qt saucepan lid fits the steamer perfectly), and it seems to be well constructed. I'm quite pleased with it.

Excellent - versatile, easy to use, solid construction
We do a lot of steaming and have gone through numerous versions of those pesky inserts that collapse, burn the fingers and eventually start to fall apart. When this came up for review it seemed like a wonderful idea and it is! Nicely sized it will fit into several different sized pots that nearly everyone has in their kitchen making it perfect for a wide variety of vegetable choices and serving sizes. The easy to lift handles are exactly what I've been searching for. Clean-up is a breeze and this is built to last. Storage space is much less of a problem than you might anticipate since this fits so nicely inside other pots. Wonderful item!

30-QT. Stainless Steel Stock Pot Without Basket by Polar Ware

Good Brew Kettle
It's not exactly a quality American made pot but it does what it's supposed to do. The product is made in China like everything else in this country but for the price you can't beat it. I use mine for a brew kettle and have had no problems so far.

great
The item arrived early and is of excellent quality. I could not have hoped for greater than if I had bought it from a distillery.

Reasonably priced Stainless
Bought as my first brew kettle. Not super duty or thick stainless but doesn't feel cheap or have an problems when full and boiling for over an hour. Drilled holes for valve and thermometer. Handles are nice. Only part that feels cheap is the lid, it works for me as I don't really need it anyway. Would work ok as a stockpot if needed.

Kaiser Bakeware Noblesse 9-Inch Round Springform Pan

Bait and switch
This claims to be the Kaiser Noblesse springform pan at a wonderful price from the seller Shop and Save. In reality it is the Kaiser Classic line, which does NOT have the leak guard rim on the bottom *as seen in the product image*. The pan was properly labeled as the Classic line on the product insert by Kaiser.

I will say the pan I received was of good quality and the price is most likely reasonable for that line. However it lacked the key feature I desired, which was the reason I ordered the Noblesse version instead of the Classic in the first place.

The pan was promptly returned for refund.

Lastly, if they are selling the Classic as the Noblesse line I do not want to think of what they are passing off as a Kaiser Classic pan.

Its a bait and switch
They sent the Classic pan not the Noblesse. If there was a zero I would have used it instead of a one star. I returned the pan and purchased it at Chef Central.

GREAT CAKE PAN!
This pan is awesome! It cooks very evenly, does NOT leak and I made the best looking cake ever with it! I am going to buy a couple more...I had no idea what I was missing but this is the way to go if you want to bake a good looking cake without any effort at all! I would highly recommend it to anyone!

RHX 4pcs Kitchen Cooking Silicone Fried Oven Poacher Pancake Egg Poach Ring Mould

A little too flexable.
It is as described - silicone. I attempted to use them on a flat griddle. They have practically NO weight and NO stiffness. Upon dropping in the raw egg from the shell around 10% oozed out under the molds. My solution was to scoop it up after a few seconds and re-add it to top on the raw egg. Usable, but a little disappointing. After flipping them out of the mold to "over easy" the cooking evened out. In addition the molds seem to prefer to be an oval like shape. Still usable, but not the shape of my English muffins. Not ideal, but I did get my money's worth.

Demeyere Resto 2.6 Qt. Whistling Kettle

Great Teakettle but didn't last ten years
I found my tea kettle! forgot the brand name forever ago, but bought this exact one at Sur la table in 2004.

It is a great tea kettle, and after six years of heavy use, either mineral build up or something has started pouring out of it in chunks(!) Like flakes of dry paint. But this is after six full years of serious use. Also, it's tarnished and stained beyond repair. Still looks beautiful, just can't get it buffed up to it's new condition.

Looks gorgeously modern and classic in the kitchen. I'm accident prone and only burned myself once in over 3000+ uses. It's important to a klutz like me that I dont have to touch the spout ever. I only put on the spout/whistle when it's just looking pretty.

The durability of these grade stainless steel is remarkable. I'm buying another one right now.

Perfect!
We looked for weeks for a kettle that was plastic free. It was incredibly difficult to find one for less than $100. The Demeyere Resto is not only beautiful, it is built to last. There is not a single molecule of plastic inside or out.

Wonderful high-quality product
This is the highest-quality kettle I have seen on the market. Thick solid surgical stainless steel, impressive encapsulated bottom for induction cooking (personally, I use it on a gas stove). Magnificent workmanship.

You get a 30-year warranty for home use (10 for commercial use). I don't know what such a warranty actually means... but for me it certainly means this will probably be the only piece of cookware that'll be fit to be passed on to the next generations as a treasured heirloom. It's that good.

Sitram Profiserie Rondeau, 7.2-quart

does the job perfectly
i own an Aga stove, and the one requirement for any pot or pan is that it have a thick, flat bottom. Sitram pans do, and I have acquired a number of them over the years. They are sturdily built for commercial use, and I doubt that they will ever wear out. I got this particular pan for braising in my oven; I needed something that would work on top of the stove and fit the ovens (the Aga ovens are long and narrow). My first job was Italian pot roasts; two of them fitted nicely in the pan and, after I had browned everything, popped right into the oven. The result was excellent, and the pan cleaned up easily. i can't recommend Sitram enough, and I only wish that this brand was better known.

All-Clad Stainless Large Paella

Big Steel, lots of room
I absolutely love this pan. I use it on my regular stove's larger burner and it fits nicely. You can really load up this pan. I fry steaks in it and I get a really nice hot sear. It fits 3 average size rib eye's nicely with room for onions. This All-Clad line works nicely with an induction burner as well. Although it's not an every day pan, i love to use it when applicable and it's also a really nice presenation piece.

Perfect for a large Big Green Egg
I looked at a lot of paella pans for my BGE. They all had handles the protruded out from the pan, which constrained the size of the pan, since it had to fit down inside the cooker. This pan's handles are vertical, which means you can fit more pan into the BGE than the others (I own a large BGE). The downside is it is obscenely expensive so you better like paella a lot *and* own a BGE (which benefits from the vertical handles). The upside is it is All-Clad -which are incredibly great pans and will become a family heirloom.

Killer deep dish pizzas
I use this in my Large Big Green Egg AND in my oven to make deep dish pizzas. I have also used it on the stovetop. It just performs like a champ, and it has been easy to clean. It is surprisingly light, or maybe I'm just used to cast iron...
