Great Teakettle but didn't last ten years
I found my tea kettle! forgot the brand name forever ago, but bought this exact one at Sur la table in 2004.
It is a great tea kettle, and after six years of heavy use, either mineral build up or something has started pouring out of it in chunks(!) Like flakes of dry paint. But this is after six full years of serious use. Also, it's tarnished and stained beyond repair. Still looks beautiful, just can't get it buffed up to it's new condition.
Looks gorgeously modern and classic in the kitchen. I'm accident prone and only burned myself once in over 3000+ uses. It's important to a klutz like me that I dont have to touch the spout ever. I only put on the spout/whistle when it's just looking pretty.
The durability of these grade stainless steel is remarkable. I'm buying another one right now.
Perfect!
We looked for weeks for a kettle that was plastic free. It was incredibly difficult to find one for less than $100. The Demeyere Resto is not only beautiful, it is built to last. There is not a single molecule of plastic inside or out.
Wonderful high-quality product
This is the highest-quality kettle I have seen on the market. Thick solid surgical stainless steel, impressive encapsulated bottom for induction cooking (personally, I use it on a gas stove). Magnificent workmanship.
You get a 30-year warranty for home use (10 for commercial use). I don't know what such a warranty actually means... but for me it certainly means this will probably be the only piece of cookware that'll be fit to be passed on to the next generations as a treasured heirloom. It's that good.
